Sailing

There are many great Caribbean destinations: the leisurely Virgin Islands with short distances in relatively protected waters; St. Martin, Martinique and the Grenadines with more open sea sailing.  All offer the genuine hospitality of the Islanders.  Wherever you go, you are sure to enjoy your vacation.  We suggest that you consult specialized cruising guides for the areas of interest to you, and also try to find information about special events.

Sailing Instructions

Starting in 2010, we offer formal sailing instruction under the International Sail and Power Academy (ISPA).  With this program, the student obtains an ISPA International Certificate of Competency Logbook in which the training achievements are certified.  The student chooses a training module, taking into account the pre-requisite required, studies the corresponding workbook at home then complete an on-line exam.  Following the successful completion of this shore-based course, the student  charters Honiara to complete the practical on-the-water training.  Upon completion, ISPA will issue an International Certificate of Competency for the subject module, as recorded by a seal in your Logbook.  At this time, we offer the on-the-water training for "Competent Crew", "Day Skipper", "Coastal Navigation", Coastal Skipper Advanced Sail" and the Canadian "Pleasure Craft Operator Card" modules.  For more information on the complete program, you may visit ISPA web site at:  www.ispa.com.

New Honeymoon Special

For the 2012-2013 charter season, we offer a $150.00 rebate and a fine bottleof champagne for honeymoon couples.  The following conditions apply:

- The marriage should have taken place not later than three months before the charter,

- The offer is valid for charter duration of at least 7 days.

New Short-Term Charter Special

Valid until November 1, 2013, we are waiving the customary surcharge on charters less than six days.  For charters of three days or less, please inquire.

New Engine

Honiara was equipped with a brand new Yanmar 50 HP engine while in the yard in St. Martin last October.  This provides you and us with the assurance of a safe, reliable sailing adventure.
