Sailing

There are many great Caribbean destinations: the leisurely Virgin Islands with short distances in relatively protected waters; St. Martin, Martinique and the Grenadines with more open sea sailing.  All offer the genuine hospitality of the Islanders.  Wherever you go, you are sure to enjoy your vacation.  We suggest that you consult specialized cruising guides for the areas of interest to you, and also try to find information about special events.

New Method of Payment

Ulysses now accepts payment by MasterCard, VISA, Amex or Discover through PayPal at no extra costs.  Your sailing vacation is just an e-mail away.

Summer Area of Operation

We left the Virgin Islands for our island hopping voyage to Grenada and Trinidad on June 8, 2007.  Our first stop was St. Martin where we spent 11 days.  Adele left for Canada on June 19th, and I continued the voyage single-handed: Statia, Nevis and Montserrat.  The latter has been devastated when its volcano, La Soufrière, erupted in 1995 and is still active.  Then Honiara sailed to Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, arriving in Bequia (Grenadines) on July 2.  Bequia is one of  my favourite islands but all good things have an end, and I left for Carriacou on July 4th.  I sailed for Prickly Bay , Grenada, the Spice Island, on July 6th, and to Chaguaramas, Trinidad, on July 12th.  Here is an excellent place for doing work on the boat.  I will be visiting my family in August, and after, will start preparing Honiara for the Virgin Islands Charteryacht League Fall Show in St. Thomas on November  8-10.

We offer captain-only down-island charters during this interesting voyage, and we hope that we will have the pleasure of sharing this experience with you in 2008.
